31st of October 1930 - Hotel Olofsson#

All investigator are in the restaurant in the morning. Donna whines like a little bitch with a freudian complex. and then follows Dirk to the reception.

Dirk heads to the reception area to make a phone call only to find out the phone is not working. Nathaniel the receptionist says that because of the riots the phone lines are cut. There were shootings in the night, fires.

Martin comes and after a short discussion we grab 2 taxis and go to the US embassy before going to the Tarror Lady Madamme Jerome.

In the embassy Dirk managed to make a phonecall to his agency/office. Dirk learned that some federal agents came to the office and asked for him. James Sterling orders $500 to be collected in the afternoon.

We went to the market where we ate some fruit and got pickpocketed. James Sterling lost his wallet and Dirk his 38 revolver.

Bruce Northeast knows about Voodoo.

On the address we went for the tarrot lady, there is a bakery. She owns the bakery and she tells us that we met before and didn’t want her to read the tarrot card. Madame Jerome asked where is the “pretty guy” and how he is doing.

Madamme Jerome reads the tarrot to Dirk.

• First Card – The Past: XIII Death (inverted): The meaning of this card is inertia and lack of hope. The investigators came to an impasse; they literally lost their minds and did not know what to do. Something very important to them was lost, but they found a means by which to cope with this loss.
• Second Card – The Present: XV the Devil (inverted): The investigators now have clarity and insight, and that their intellect wants to dominate their intuition and feelings. In one sense intellect gives them great power, the spiritual energy of several people. However if they trust their intuition and feelings, that energy and inner power might be lost.
• Third Card – The Future: The Hanged Man (inverted): This represents selfishness and egotism. To succeed they must ignore false prophets, let go of their fears and not be afraid to sacrifice, even self-sacrifice for the greater good. The investigators are seeking someone, and this person is the cause of their current predicament. He may have to be let go if they are to achieve what they came to Haiti to accomplish. They may have to give up something about themselves too if they are to succeed.
• Fourth Card – The Obstacle: Ten of Wands (inverted): The investigators face treachery and loss. She says they have deceived themselves, and this deceit will bring about their downfall. If they are to defeat their enemy, they must first come to terms with their own lies.
• Fifth Card – The Outcome: Ten of Swords: To overcome their obstacle the investigators will feel pain and anguish, and they will reach an extremely low point in their affairs. However, the worst has already passed, and great good can be accomplished. There will be a desertion, but the desertion brings truth, and the truth opens the possibility for success.

The cards that Madame Jerome was using are USA made, Rider Waite. Cheap to find. Nothing special. The card O’neal found was rare. She tells us to burn the Death card.

We decided to go to Bruce Northeast when Sean realized that 2 people are following us. They seem european or americans.

On the way to Pacot we meet a group of kids playing football. The ball ends up on the feet of Donna. A little kid approaches her and stays stunned while picking the ball. The kids disappear very fast after looking at Donna.

When we arrive at the are we notice a bugnalow on a slope. Sean & Dirk clear out the perimeter and the Sean goes on the veranda and sees a dead rooster decipitated hanging from a piece of string. The door to the house has been forced open. On the door there is a carved skull with 3 sockets.

Sean decides to enter the house and he slowly pass through all the areas of the house. Dirk follows him inside. Dean & Dirk find a chopped up body behind a bed. A bunch of tarrantulas emerge from behind the bed. Sean find the following journal..
