Past Midnight Activities
Mary and Jean are still praying. He convinces Mary to summon Fr Fergus and retrieve the dagger from Vincent. She agrees with that idea. He promises to pick up the father from the airport as soon as he arrives. He then finds a brass ceremonial knife.
Sophie has a chat with Emilien. He believes that Dominique is an extraordinary person and that a lot can be learned from him. Two thousand years of knowledge! Sophie accepts Emilien’s ideas and agrees to it. She cannot sleep because she is pumped up.
Mary calls Fr Fergus (midnight UK time). She confesses that she strongly believes Vincent is possessed by a demon. For real this time, not like the other time she did the same. He tells her that he is not an exorcist, but she convinces him to join, after succeeding in a Theology roll regarding mustard seeds being able to move mountains. Fr Fergus will arrive at noon.
Vincent cannot think of a way to use a spell to save himself.
Joseph tells Dominique Daniel to wait until midnight so that they may activate the watch and have Sophie be Simone’s host. Daniel believes the Lodge will be useful to them. Simone knew where to hide the watch.
Jean tries to gain access to the Lodge’s Library. Finds out that it is locked. Jean visits and pesters Sophie into gaining access to it. She calls Emilien, but he denies any entry. He stays with her and writes down meeting minutes.
Tailing the Nephilim – Notre Dame
Next morning at 10:30am, Sophie, Eleonore and Jean track down Joseph and Daniel who are visiting Paris. The latter are impressed that the city does not smell of shit, the women are dressed nicely and there is food everywhere.
The Exorcist Kit-less Priest
Mary had already woken up and reminded Jean about picking up Fr Fergus from the airport.
Jean spends 2 hours looking for the Nephilim for Sophie and then drives to the hotel, picks up Mary and drive her to the airport. They pick up Fergus and head back to the hotel. On their way there Mary relays everything she knows to Fr. Ferguson, so Jean catches up on information he has missed.
People constantly making up minds at the Lodge’s HQ / Hotel – After 14:00
Daniel question Joseph about his choice of Sophie over Mary as Simone’s host. They then notice Fr. Fergus.
Joseph informs Mary that Vincent will be freed tonight and will be back with her. Mary urges Fergus to douse Vincent with holy water. Vincent explains that he needed to borrow Vincent’s body to bring back Simone.
Sophie questions the Nephilim about who is after them. Who attacked them at the Villa. Does not get a clear response. Joseph explains that a host is needed tonight at midnight to bring back Simone. Sophie is more than happy to help.
Fr Fergus decides to attempt an exorcism, after figuring out that Vincent is not himself anymore. Asks Mary to bring Vincent on his own to a hotel room and keep him restrained.
Mary confronts Joseph. She demands proof that Vincent is still alive. She requested intercourse with him because they never got married. Joseph casts a spell to implant a fake memory in her, detailing her conversation with Vincent. She then goes back to Fr Fergus to give him the story. Fergus does not trust what she is saying.
Jean realizes that Mary’s mind has been messed up with. He decides to leave, go back to his apartment, get hold of his revolver, and then sneak into Notre Dame and wait it out until midnight and the ritual.
Research
Sophie does some research at the library. Discovers that the first leader of the lodge was Simone. She then informs Emilien, who insists that the Lodge is blessed.
Eventually she heads to Notre Dame, wondering who is after the Nephilim. What society and to what ends.
Few Minutes to Midnight
Vincent goes to Mary’s room. Finds her standing there, with Fr. Fergus praying. He notices Vincent, turns around with a pale face, and with a raised arm he utters words in Aramaic.
Limbo-Vincent sees light coming through the keyhole of his room. Joseph feels powerless. Something is pinning him down. Cannot move and cannot think clearly. Feels fear. He calls out to Daniel for help.
Daniel enters the room. Fergus raises his arm higher and talks louder. The door shuts close.
Limbo-Vincent sees bright light around the door. Passes through the door, into the light.
Vincent’s body falls to the ground, and Fr. Fergus stops chanting. Daniel pulls out a gun and attempt to shoot Fergus.
Mary throws the Bible at Daniel. Gets an Extreme Success and hits Daniel in the eye for 4 HP. He screams: “You fucking bitch!”
Fergus, no longer pale, seems to have just woken up from a dream.
Vincent is back in his body.
Mary lashes on “Terry” (Hard Brawl) and bites him for 1 HP.
Combat mode:
- Dominique – Punches Mary in the face for 2HP
- Vincent – Takes out the watch, and threatens to destroy the watch, unless he stands down.
- Mary – Gets on her feet.
- Dominique – Attacks Vincent (who fumbles a fight back) for 3HP and loses the golden watch from his hands.
- Vincent – Punches Dominique for 7 HP.
- Mary – Tosses another bible at Dominique for 4 HP.
- Dominique – Flees the room.
Combat ends!
Vincent hugs Mary and tells her that he is back. Mary does not believe him “Go back Satan!”
Fergus looks confused and lost. Mary crosses and prays for him. Asks him to do to Terry what he did to Vincent. Onwards to Notre Dame.
Sophie notices Terry fleeing the hotel, towards Notre Dame. Goes after him by grabbing a taxi.
2 Minutes to Midnight
Jean is hiding up in one of Notre Dames towers. Spots Terry who stands in front of the door clutching the golden watch.
Sophie approaches Terry, but she collapses (RIP) after failing her POW roll.
Jean attempts to cast Breath of the Deep on Terry and succeeds the opposed POW roll. Terry starts drowning but does not die.
Jean first takes a shot at him, but there is no effect. He then rushes down to the ground level and start stabbing Terry in the back of his neck with the brass butter knife. Terry dies!
Jean fails to cover up his trail and a passerby tourist takes a photo of him before he runs away from the scene of the crime.
Epilogue
Sophie is no longer alive. Simone takes over her body. Eventually she discovers that Jean Marais killed Terry (Daniel) and goes after him.
Jean becomes Simone’s puppet, but he does not mind as long as he can be close to the physical body of the woman, he had a soft spot for.
Mary and Vincent get married. Fr Fergus performs the wedding ritual. They get to have eight kids. Mary becomes even more religious and uses Bibles to decorate every room in her house.
