Protagonists#

Monday, October 30th, 1922#

The group gathers at Ophitaurus Headquarters. Freddy, a man sent by Lombardo.

Decided on the following actions:

• Deliver the Chinese book to Ying Ying (Barnabas’ contact) for translation.
• Visit Carl Mann’s house.

Carl Mann’s House – 10:00 am#

Arriving there we spotted a car. We slashed the tires.

Max and Freddy went to the back door.

Barnabas and Raymond to the front.

A fumble from Freddy creates noise and attracts the attention of the inhabitants.

Combat:

• Barnabas shoots at the front door and opens it.
• Bennet hides.
• Freddy kicks in the back door and sees Carl Mann. Throws a dagger at him but misses.
• Max throws the ritualistic dagger at Carl Mann but misses horribly (20 out of 50).
• Sounds of footsteps coming from above.
• Barnabas enters the building and shouts aloud “Police!” And makes police siren sounds with his mouth.
• Carl Mann tells Freddy that he should leave and that they do not know what they got themselves into.
• Bennet enters with a lighter and a Molotov cocktail in hands.
• Freddy shoots Carl Mann for 14 HP and kills him.
• Max calls out that there are two people coming from upstairs (Hard Listen roll)
• Barnabas shoots at a Deep One (Ichthyosaurus accord to Raymond Bennet) for 15 HP points of damage and kills it.
• Rossi heads upstairs.
• Max searches the living room “Dear Doug I am sure we will stop her this time. Wilma’s ritual must not succeed.”
• Raymond examines the body but fumbles a biology roll. Thinks his daughter is showing signs of turning into a fish girl.
• Freddy tries to remove the mask from the Deep One but realizes that it is not one. And then heads upstairs.
• Barnabas also heads upstairs.

There is nothing of interest upstairs. But a ladder leads down from the kitchen, into the cellar. An opening lead into a tunnel.

Inside the tunnel we encountered two Deep Ones. Barnabas fires a shot at them and scares them away.

We burned down the house and left and headed out the Ritual Site. There is nothing special about location, other than being remote.

Back at the Ophiotaurus Headquarters#

Max and Raymond research the books. Find out that the statuette must be important for the ritual.

Barnabas and Freddy head to the Church, only to find it barred and locked up.

A plan is devised to create robes like the ones found in the Angelic Ones Temple, to disguise ourselves in it during the ritual.

The robes will be made by an Italian acquaintance of Freddy Rossi.

Raymond becomes terribly upset when he realizes that the Chinese text, names “R’lyeh Text” reminds him of what his daughter has been dreaming about. Visits Max for consultation. He is sleeping on the couch. He comforts him and then Jillian finds them touching each other… 😊

Wake up call.

Raymond wakes up at 5am. Grabs Barnabas and both head to pick up Max. His wife is annoyed. Raymond phone calls Fred to join them. They visit the tailor for the robes, but they are not yet ready!

Ritual Site#

The group arrives there at 06:30.

Eight people unload a 3-meter monolith (with hard to discern glyphs) from the truck. Six more people stand guard.
