17:45 Angelic Ones Church#

The group gathers at the church. All kinds of people step inside.

Inside the Atrium is full and a church organ is playing music. The music stops. A young woman in white robes enters and everyone rises. There are lights embedded in the floor to make her entrance more dramatic.

She praises and preaches the Angelic Ones. Her sermon contains teachings from Asian religions.

When she ends, there is a communion that everyone goes for. Wine and waffles.

The group, except for Frank, lines up and communes. Then everyone heads into the kitchen.

There is coffee and tea served. Groups of people chat with each other. Elsie’s name is mentioned all the time.

A woman in white garments, who introduces herself as Louise Crosby (Temple Manager/ also bakes the cookies), welcomes us.

Raymond asks about whether there is a book their teaching.

She mentions that their religion is monotheistic and believes that angels might not be anthropomorphic. Their lead priestess is Elsie Cartright (Vilma Cartright is her mother).

Max fails to convince Vilma to have Raymond talk to Elsie. So, she takes everyone (except for Max) upstairs to a private room.

There they notice a book called “Witch Cults in Western Europe.”

She introduces them to Elsie, who stands up to welcome them and asks them to sit down. Vilma stands in a corner.

Raymond confesses to Elsie that he lost his wife 3 years ago. She committed suicide.

Barnabas notices that Elsie is pregnant!

Elsie claims that she has seen the Angelic Ones. They are like bright lights of an assortment of colors. She developed the gift to see them as she was growing up.

Frank asks about the books, and if he is allowed to take a quick glance at them. Vilma seems to become a little agitated but allows it. He just notices religious and occult books. He also questions about the architecture of the place. He gets replies that mention their faith.

Elsie invites the group to join them again at 09:00 for the morning sermon.

Upstairs there are a couple more rooms besides the one they are in. Almost half of the floor has a view of the ground floor.

Max goes exploring the ground floor a little bit. Discovers a door behind some chairs in a storage room.

Abduction#

The group exits the building. There are two guards outside now. A car drives near with eight guys and tommy-guns, take us inside and drive us to Long Beach. Max notices a sign outside a building “Lombardo Shipping.”

Frank recognizes Lombardo as a gangster.

They took us inside the administration building where we met Sebastiano Lombardo. 40years old, tall, slightly overweight, well dressed, slicked back hair.

He wanted to know why we were asking questions about the warehouse at Delray.

Threatened to kill Raymond’s daughter is we would not answer.

We told him about Diaz and that we suspected he was a member of the church.

He said that Elsa had ordered a statuette from London a few weeks ago. He increased the value, and she got upset, so she sued him for thievery and broke into his warehouse. Two men dead and one insane.

Max realizes it is much quieter outside. Barnabas hears footsteps.

Two deep ones enter. San rolls. One guard gets attacked and is taken down. The other one goes insane and starts banging his head on the wall.

Combat begins. Barnabas kills one. Lombardo kills the other. Combat ends.

Frank notices that there is someone outside watching them. He, Barnabas, and Lombardo go after him, restrain him, and question him about what he knows about what just happened.

Frank intimidates the worker Doug Mann (eyes in deep socket, grayish skin). Says that Mrs. Vilma Cartwright is powerful and that should not be messed around with.

Says that his brother Carl goes out on rendezvous with Vilma and that is how he knows. He is intimidated into revealing that there is going to be a ritual and does not want Lombardo involved.

Carl wants to sabotage Vilma’s ritual. Hands over Carl’s address.

Lombardo says that the statue Vilma acquired was one that resembled an octopus. It was sold by one Chillingworth for an exceptionally large amount of money. Also, that he lost two men, three missing and one went insane.

Takes his “hostages” back to where they were taken from and lets them go.

Carl Mann’s House#

The group drove to Carl Mann’s house to the southwest. A secluded location. Barnabas and Frank stealth their way to the place and check the ground floor. They see this large man sitting on a chair.

Old Victorian era furniture and wallpaper. There is some noise coming from upstairs.

Frank and Barnabas try to stealth their way inside. They find paperwork inside the study, and they leave the house.

There is a mention about a gas station at the foothills of Los Angeles National Park to the mountains at the northeast, and about the construction of an underground storage. The document is a deed transfer from someone unnamed.
